Last Wednesday a Jordanian court of law sentenced a man for 6 months of jail for electrocuting his 16 year old daughter to death for committing adultery.
The poor girl came to her father and confessed that she slept with a guy she knew which drove the father "insane". He kept beating her up for a while then tied her up using uncovered electric wires and shocking her with 220V of direct electricity.
The man then went to the police confessed his crime, in court his only defense was "It’s a crime of honor" – this excuse is guaranteed to work.
This is 1 of 12-14 crimes of honor in Jordan (5.5 million population). The Jordanian house of representatives refused any changes on the law of "crimes of honor" not once but twice.
